How we help
We help by providing everyday items that the majority of us take for granted, such as a bed to sleep in, a cooker to prepare a hot meal and, in emergencies, food. These items may not cost much, but they can make a massive difference to people’s lives.
We use a network of local organisations that are in the community working with individuals and families in need. Using organisations already in place keeps our overheads to a minimum, increases the efficiency of our services and ensures that we get the help to those who need it when they need it most.
Once a referral is received, we act immediately.
If the need is urgent we can help the same day.
Our team have an expert knowledge of the thousands of benevolent funds in the UK that have money to assist people in need.
For every £10 donated we can raise £50 from charitable trusts that are available to help – all of that £50 goes to those in need.
Once we receive the funds, we purchase the goods required and deliver them direct.
Last year we raised £724,241, all of which went to those in need in our community.
Robin was trying to start again
Robin had been through a very difficult time and has recently been discharged from Bradgate Mental Health Unit. He was trying to put his life back together and had just moved into his first home since leaving the Unit. Robin had lost all his belongings, he had no furniture, bed or cooker. He was extremely vulnerable and desperately trying to cope in the outside world. Robin’s only income came from Incapacity Benefit and Disability Living Allowance and he simply could not afford to furnish his new home.
We helped immediately and bought a bed and cooker for Robin, and he is now starting to rebuild his life.
