How you can help

You can make a real difference today

For every £10 you donate we can raise £50 from charitable trusts that are available to help those in desperate need, which means that you can make a real difference to someone in desperate need:

Sanjeev has not eaten for days. A donation of £10 would provide him with £50 worth of food vouchers.

Six year old Sophie sleeps on the floor. A donation of £20 would buy her a bed.

Edith and George have not eaten a hot meal in months. A donation of £50 would provide a cooker.

Janet is housebound and alone. A donation of £100 would buy her a wheelchair power pack, so that she can go out again.

You can help by making a donation

Or sending a cheque made payable to Leicester Charity Link, 20a Millstone Lane, Leicester  LE1 5JN.

David was homeless

In February 2009 David was homeless sleeping in a church crypt during the heaviest snow storms that Leicestershire had seen in a number of years. There were no hostel places available for David; he had no income and had not eaten for three days.

We acted immediately and gave David £80 worth of food vouchers. David desperately wanted a home of his own and a job. We made some calls and negotiated with a private landlord to rent an empty flat to David and provided £100 for a rent bond. We also gave David £30 so he could buy a suit and arranged for work experience at a voluntary organisation.

Just £210 got David off the street and back into work.
