Powrie Appleby Treasure Hunt

Mag glass for web page

Wow! What a night….. a big thank you to all of the 19 teams who took part in the Powrie Appleby Treasure Hunt on Thursday 21st July starting at The Almanack, Highcross, Leicester.

Teams arrived at The Almanack just after 5pm, eager to start seeking! Once registered they were issued their ‘seekers pack’. Of course not forgetting that extra points were gained for ‘inventive’ headwear…. oh my – what a sight! And here is the evidence, simply click on the link to view all the photo’s from the Powrie Appleby Treasure Hunt!

It was an extremely enjoyable night and a big thank you to Powrie Appleby, The Almanack, Studio 68 and The Case Wine Shop for ensuring that it was a night to remember.

Now for the winners:

1st place Harvey Ingram

2nd place Eazytiger (Joint with Bray & Bray but won second place for novelty head wear!)

3rd place Bray & Bray

A grand total of £460 was raised! But that’s not the best bit – for every £10 donated we can raise £50 from charitable trusts that are available to help those in need, which means that from the £460 raised we can convert this into £2,300, all of which will go to those in need in our community.

Thank you to everyone for supporting our event and here’s to the next one!

Molly and her mum were forced to sleep on the settee

Molly and her mum were referred to us in desperate need. Their home was infested with mice, they had problems with damp which had caused mould throughout their home, this had now spread to their beds. They were trying to get the Council to sort out the problem but in the meantime they were both forced to sleep on the settee each night. Many of their items have had to be thrown away. Molly’s mum has no means to buy new beds.

So we bought two beds, just £240 made a difference.
