Pub Quiz Raises £500!

The Longest Orange PeelIt was THE pub quiz of the year and what a night it was…. 15 teams entered to compete for the coveted trophy and of course to be ‘The Brainiest Business in Leicester’.

The teams fought it out through a gruelling test of mental agility, dexterity (who could peel the longest orange peel in one go?? Well the record on the night was an amazing 142cm!) and senses with the ‘Guess the Grape’ round. But of course there can only be one winner… and on the night Inventive Suggestions clinched the crown to be the pub quiz kings and queens.

Thank you to everyone who supported the event and raising a grand total of £500.

A special thank you to Powrie Appleby LLP for all their efforts organising the quiz and The Almanack for allowing Leicester Charity Link to take over… again! Thank you also to our photographer on the night,  Miles Marr from Studio Sixty Eight, for capturing the evening.

Here are the pub quiz kings and queens:

Sarah was struggling with Multiple Sclerosis

In 2004 Sarah and her two children received the news that frightened them most, Sarah was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Sarah had brought up her two children on her own, since their father left, and was forced to give up work due to the worsening nature of her Multiple Sclerosis. Sarah is now wheelchair bound with limited mobility.  Social
Services had adapted her home and created a bedroom and bathroom downstairs, but her bedroom was unfurnished and Sarah could not afford to carpet the new rooms.

We helped and bought Sarah a new bed and carpets. This has meant the world to Sarah and her children.
