          about our work

          Our small team is dedicated and experienced at firstly assessing genuine need and secondly accessing funds to help.

          We have expert knowledge of the thousands of trusts and benevolent funds in the UK that are available to help individuals or families in hardship. Through linking these trusts with people in need we are able to raise over £750,000 per year - all of which goes direct to those in need. By doing so we are able to provide the basic essentials such as beds, cookers, clothing and many more, to those who have nothing.


          Lucy's Story
                                                 

          "I was referred to Leicester Charity Link by a local women's refuge - I had no choice, I had to leave home with the kids to get away from the violence, I couldn't stand by and let the kids suffer any more... Lucy's four young daughtersWe were lucky to have been offered a new house in Leicester so at least we had a home together again, but I had no money and everything was left behind - we had literally nothing. How could I look after the kids properly? They didn't even have any clothes, I was desperate".
          We secured £600 of funding for Lucy and her family to ensure that they could build a new and safe life together
          Once we learned about Lucy's situation we managed to use our expertise to identify and make successful applications to three separate charities and secured £600 for her.

          This money enabled us to provide the family with a cooker, fridge freezer and children's clothing.

          "Thank God Leicester Charity Link exists - without them I don't know what I would have done". 

          It may not seem much, but these items ensured that they could start to put their past behind them and safely establish a new life for all the family.
